Golf tournaments can be a lot of fun and a great source of revenue, but the networking and member interaction can be limited for people who are driving around with their “team” all day. The Pajaro Valley Chamber of Commerce came up with a creative idea for their next golf tournament.

Get Members Interacting at Your Next Chamber Golf Tournament
Golf tournaments are a great excuse to spend the better part of the day outside but you end up talking to just the people in your tee-off group. Not at Pajaro Valley.
They decided to host their chamber golf tournament at a driving range. Here’s what they have in mind for the event:
This is going to be a fun event… There will be serious competition for teams, but also fun/quirky games throughout the day. By having it at a driving range, businesses can network throughout the day instead of being in the cart all day with their own business partners.
A lot of organizations host golf tournaments and there can be steep competition for attendees. Some chambers overcome that by hosting it at exclusive clubs, that many attendees don’t otherwise have access to, but if that’s not a possibility for your chamber, don’t feel like you have to be locked into a course. Will a range work for you?
If your chamber golf tournament attendance has dropped off in recent years, this may be the perfect solution to get people interacting again and enjoying the game. Plus, golf novices who may shy away from signing up for your golf tournie because playing golf with experienced players is too intimidating, may enjoy the laid-back atmosphere of the driving range.
