ChatGPT is all the rage and can do some amazing things for your chamber marketing efforts without spending any money. However, the free version (default 3.5 version) is missing some functionality that the paid version has. One of those things is the extended capabilities of plugins. While upgrading to the paid version is not a necessity in chamber life (but it is only $20 a month), it can help you do a lot more with its robust offerings including some exciting things with plugins. Just like phone apps, there are both free plugins and ones with a nominal fee. If you’ve been wondering whether the paid version of Chat GPT is for you, you may just solidify an opinion after you see what plugins can do.
Why Should I Upgrade to the Paid Version of ChatGPT?
All of this advanced technology can be overwhelming if you’re not an early adopter. While it’s easy to use, there’s so much to learn about it. That’s why we’ve compiled this article to help give you some quick info on 4.0 and its plugins. So, why should you upgrade?
If you ask the AI, here’s what you’re going to get:
Using plugins and ChatGPT 4.0 can bring several advantages to a Chamber of Commerce:

Efficient Information Retrieval:
- Plugins can facilitate quick and efficient retrieval of information, making it easier for users to find what they need without navigating through multiple platforms. (Not sure what multiple platforms they’re referring to but…)
- By fostering virtual networking, showcasing businesses, and promoting collaboration, ChatGPT 4.0 and plugins contribute to building a stronger sense of community among chamber members. (That’s good. The machines are bringing us closer.)
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Plugins can be designed to collect valuable data through surveys, feedback, and interactions, providing insights that can inform strategic decisions for the chamber.
- Centralizing communication through a chat platform helps streamline information flow, making it easier for the chamber to convey important updates and news to members.

- By providing a convenient and engaging platform for members to connect, access resources, and participate in chamber activities, ChatGPT 4.0 and plugins contribute to member satisfaction and retention.
While using AI does do all of these things, what most chamber pros want is actual solutions to stretch their resources, not theoretical ones so let’s take a look at what plugins are, how you use them, and some of the best out there to help you get more done in less time.
What Is a ChatGPT Plugin?
Again, to use plugins, you need to upgrade to the paid version of the platform. ChatGPT Plus offers plugin access, allowing users to install third-party components for various purposes. These plugins can range from travel booking to interacting with apps like Google Sheets, providing a high level of customization.
When you do, you’ll be invited to upgrade to Plus. Once you upgrade, return to the ChatGPT screen and make sure you select GPT-4. A small menu will appear,
In a nut shell, GPT-4 is better at understanding what you need, has a bigger data set to draw from, and thus, less likely to make things up. But those aren’t the only benefits to upgrading.
Additional advantages to upgrading include:
- Internet Access. The new Browse with Bing mode allows ChatGPT 4.0 to access the internet, overcoming the knowledge cutoff of the free version. This enables real-time information retrieval, article summarization, market research, and accurate responses.
- Image Input Options. ChatGPT 4.0’s standout feature is its ability to process image inputs. Users can utilize this feature for tasks like deciphering handwritten notes, describing images, and even making calculations based on pictures of spreadsheets.
- DALL·E 3 Art Creation. Integration with DALL·E 3 allows users to generate images based on prompts within the chat. This feature is demonstrated by requesting illustrations for a story, showcasing the combination of storytelling and image creation.
- Advanced Data Analytics. The Advanced Data Analytics feature enables users to turn spreadsheets into visual graphs for better data visualization. This can be beneficial for businesses or individuals looking to make data-driven decisions.
- Greater Stability. ChatGPT Plus boasts enhanced stability compared to the free version. Ever click on the free version and it gives you a message about the system being overloaded or some such nonsense. Not on Plus. Plus subscribers enjoy priority access, ensuring almost continuous service availability even during peak usage times.
- Seamless Interactions. ChatGPT Plus features two language models—GPT-4 and a faster GPT-3.5 version. The Plus version offers a more responsive experience, addressing the issue of the free version frequently stopping responses.
- Better Translation Capabilities. GPT-4 demonstrates improved translation capabilities, responding more accurately to non-English prompts. The introduction of plugins, such as the Speak plugin for language learning, further enhances language-related functionalities.
If you’re ready to upgrade now, we can walk you through it. Otherwise, skip down to our summary of the best plugins for chambers.
How do I upgrade?
You upgrade by signing in and then hitting the “Upgrade” link on the bottom of the left sidebar. When this screen appears, hit the upgrade button. Follow the payment directions. Go to the Chat screen. Select GPT-4. A small dialogue box will appear. Choose Plugins (Beta).
From this screen you’ll select No plugins enabled and click on the Plugin store. From there, you will select and install your desired plugins. (We’ll have a “best” list for you in a little bit.). Then go back to this screen at right and enable your desired plugins.
Important to note: while you can download many plugins, you can only enable 3 at a time currently.
Now that you may or may not have upgraded, let’s take a look at some of the best plugins for chambers.
Best ChatGPT Plugins for Chambers
Like anything, your “best” list is going to be predicated on how you like to use AI and what you like to use it for. However, we’ve combed through some of the most popular plugins and highlighted the ones we think you’ll get the most value in as chamber pros. Some of these may even fall under the category of things you never knew you needed but can’t live without.
Your AI results are only as good as the prompts you feed it. Think of it as the same way you would an intern who you want to post to social media for your chamber. You can tell them to “write a Facebook post about our event.” But you may get something full of acronyms, emojis, and words like “cap” (which apparently does not refer to one’s hat). To get better results, you would explain to the intern who your ideal target audience is, what you’re trying to accomplish, the details of the event, and keywords and hashtags that work for your audience and chamber. When you do this, the production quality will be much better “fo shizzle.”
PromptPerfect is a plugin that takes your basic prompt to something closer to what you want (the first time). For instance, maybe you want to create an image for an event flyer and you enter “room of business people.” PromptPerfect engineers it into something more likely to get your desired results like “room of business people of varied backgrounds and ethnicities having fun in an energetic atmosphere.”
Cost: $9.99 per month
